Supported Employment

Supporting people into paid employment in our Social Enterprise

We believe with the right support and work environment, based on the values of social and economic inclusion, promoting self-determination, choice and independence – you can achieve all your life goals and aspirations! Unlike the historic “sheltered workshop” or Disability Enterprises, Hurdles provides inclusive and progressive supports, through modernised programmes to reflect the ambitions of people with disability.

Our Gardening & Lawn Care services offers supported employment opportunities for individuals funded by the NDIS. Our program offers:

  • A “real job” – supported employees receive a Letter of Offer and Position Description.
  • Supported employees are externally wage assessed annually.
  • Remuneration is in accordance with the Gardening & Landscaping Services Award.
Opportunity to complete a Cert II in Horticulture.
  • Training on the job.

Working with the Hurdle Gardening & Lawn Care Team offers people with a disability an opportunity to develop their skills in a job they love doing. So, if you’re interested in a career in gardening, apply now for a “supported” job and become a valued member of our great Gardening & Lawn Care Team.

For any queries, contact the Team at Hurdle Gardening & Lawn Care at gardening@hurdle.support or complete an online enquiry on the Contact Us page.
